Shocking Murshidabad Waqf Incident: Father-Son Brutally Attacked in Broad Daylight – One Dead

A disturbing incident in Murshidabad, West Bengal, has left the community in shock after a father and son were violently assaulted in a dispute reportedly linked to Waqf property. A widely circulated video of the attack shows the two men being mercilessly beaten by a group, resulting in the son’s death and leaving the father critically injured.  

Eyewitnesses say the clash erupted over a long-standing land dispute, escalating into a brutal mob attack where the victims were struck with sticks and sharp objects. The graphic footage reveals the assailants kicking, punching, and repeatedly hitting the helpless duo as onlookers stood by. The son, 28-year-old Imran Sheikh, died en route to the hospital, while his father, 55-year-old Abdul Karim, fights for his life.  

The incident has sparked outrage among locals and relatives, who accuse the attackers of acting as vigilantes. "This was a cold-blooded murder in broad daylight. The police must ensure all involved are punished," a family member demanded. Political figures and activists have also condemned the violence, urging authorities to take swift action.  

Police have registered a case and detained multiple suspects, promising a thorough investigation. "We are committed to delivering justice," a senior officer stated. The tragedy has reignited concerns over land disputes and mob violence in the region, with calls for stronger measures to prevent such horrific acts in the future.
