Amit Shah Accuses RJD of Promoting Crime, Highlights BJP's Development Agenda for Bihar

In a fiery address at a BJP rally in Bihar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a blistering attack on the opposition RJD, alleging the party had institutionalized crime during its rule. "The RJD's reign turned Bihar into a hub of kidnapping and robbery syndicates," Shah declared before a charged crowd, contrasting this with what he called the NDA government's transformative development work.

The senior BJP leader painted a grim picture of Bihar's past, recalling notorious kidnapping cases that made national headlines during RJD's tenure. He specifically mentioned how businessmen, professionals and even students lived in fear, suggesting the opposition party had nurtured this criminal ecosystem. Shah connected these allegations to recent enforcement agency actions against some RJD leaders, presenting them as evidence of systemic corruption.

Shifting gears, the Home Minister detailed the central government's infrastructure push in Bihar, listing ongoing highway projects, industrial corridors and law enforcement initiatives. He particularly emphasized how improved security had attracted new investments to the state. The speech took a personal turn when Shah targeted RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, mocking what he called the younger leader's sudden "conversion" to development politics after his party's alleged history of promoting lawlessness.

RJD spokespersons swiftly dismissed the allegations as election-season fearmongering. "The BJP is recycling decades-old incidents to hide its own failures in job creation and price control," a party representative countered, accusing the central government of neglecting Bihar's real issues.

Political observers note Shah's hard-hitting rhetoric signals the BJP's 2024 election strategy for Bihar – combining corruption charges against rivals with promises of continued development. As the war of words intensifies, voters appear divided, with some applauding the crackdown on corruption while others demand more substantive solutions to unemployment and agrarian distress. The speech has certainly raised the political temperature in a state that could prove crucial in the upcoming national elections.
