In a significant development for regional peace, the Indian Army has officially stated that the 2021 ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan has no expiration date, offering hope for lasting calm along the volatile Line of Control and International Border. The landmark truce, initially seen as a temporary measure, has now been confirmed as an open-ended arrangement that will remain in effect as long as both nations continue to honor it.  

Since the agreement was implemented in February 2021, border areas have witnessed a dramatic reduction in violence. What was once a regular exchange of artillery fire—with thousands of ceasefire violations reported annually—has now become exceptionally rare.
