CBI Rules Out Gang Rape in R.G. Kar Case, Probes Conspiracy and Evidence Tampering

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has dismissed the gang rape allegations in the controversial R.G. Kar Medical College case, marking a significant turn in the high-profile investigation. After a thorough forensic examination and witness interrogations, the agency found no medical or circumstantial evidence to support the initial claim that a 17-year-old patient was sexually assaulted. Instead, the probe has now taken a different direction, focusing on potential conspiracy, cover-up, and destruction of evidence by hospital staff.

According to CBI sources, discrepancies in the first information report (FIR), conflicting medical opinions, and suspicious gaps in hospital records raised doubts about the authenticity of the rape allegations. Key evidence, including CCTV footage from critical areas of the hospital, was either missing or appeared tampered with, deepening suspicions of foul play. Investigators are now examining whether certain employees fabricated the sexual assault claim to conceal possible medical negligence or other unlawful activities within the hospital.

The victim’s family, who had earlier accused the hospital of failing to protect the teenager, has remained silent following the CBI’s findings. Meanwhile, the development has sparked mixed reactions, with activists and political leaders demanding accountability. While some question whether the initial allegations were a deliberate attempt to manipulate public sentiment, others emphasize the need for stricter protocols to prevent evidence tampering in sensitive cases.

The CBI is expected to pursue charges against those involved in the alleged cover-up, including potential charges of forgery, criminal conspiracy, and obstruction of justice. As the case unfolds, it has reignited debates about transparency in medical institutions and the consequences of false allegations on genuine victims of sexual violence. Authorities have assured the public of a rigorous investigation to uncover the truth behind what appears to be a deeply troubling attempt to mislead investigators and the judiciary.
